The Upper Peninsula Health Access Coalition will sponsor it annual Hero for the Uninsured Awards dinner and reception on Thursday, May 1 at 6 p.m. at UpFront and Company in Marquette.
The awards, presented during the Cover the Uninsured Week (April 27 to May 3) celebrate the contributions of citizens and organizations that improve the health and well-being of hundreds of people in the U.P.
Dr. Kevin Piggot will speak on the outlook for national health care from a historic perspective, as well as his experiences with the Access to Health Care movement.
Individual tickets are $25. Tables of six may be reserved for $125. Tables can be sponsored by affinity groups to recognize individuals or organizations during Cover the Uninsured Week.
