The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning will present ” Gems of Lake Superior.” a collection of 1870's photographs by B.F. Childs, on Tuesday, April 29 from 7 to 9 p.m. in room 101-b of the Superior Dome in Marquette.
Childs traveled to the Marquette area to photograph mines, towns, natives and scenery, including Pictured Rocks, from a small boat.
Jack Deo of Superior View Photography gathered a collection of Childs' work and will share it in a presentation along with information about the photographer.
Cost for the presentation is $4 for NCLL members and $7 for others. Registration deadline is Friday, April 25. Call Don Balmer at 249-1273.
