The Thrivent Financial Action Team initiative has provided St Charles Winery a $250 grant to host a sewing bee to benefit Little Dresses for Africa. LDFA is a non-profit organization based out of Brownstown, Michigan with the mission of clothing girls in Africa with simple dresses made from pillowcases and cotton fabric. LDFA’s goal is to the plant in the hearts of little girls that they are worthy…one little dress at a time.
Join us at St Charles Winery (located at 1104 W Washington St in Marquette) on Saturday, April 19 from 11am-2pm to help create these much needed dresses. Anyone can participate in this sewing bee – whether it’s providing your time, pillowcases or material, a sewing machine, sewing supplies, elastic or double bias tape, panties and shirts of every size or cash donation it will all be put to good use. No previous sewing skills needed! Lunch will be provided.
If you have material we can use for this event please bring it to St Charles Winery Tuesday through Saturday from 3pm-7pm.
