Houghton/Marquette – The Copper Country Humane Society in Houghton and the Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter in Negaunee Township will host “Score a Goal for Shelter Pets,” a “wish list” collection fundraiser on Friday, February 21 at the MTU vs.NMU game at John J. MacInnes Ice Arena in Houghton and Saturday, February 22 at the Berry Events Center in Marquette. Both games begin at 7 p.m.
Fans are invited to bring “wish list” items to one or both games to benefit CCHS and UPAWS. Wish list items include canned dog and cat food, durable pet toys, leashes, Tadych’s Econo Foods receipts, cleaning supplies and monetary donations.
Shelter volunteers will be on hand to collect the donations and to provide information about their shelter. For more information, visit www.cchumanesociety.com or www.upaws.org.
