Marquette – Healthy Eating for Successful Living in Older Adults educational workshops and support program, for seniors age 60 and over will begin on Friday, February 21 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the YMCA in Marquette.
The workshops are for those who want to learn more about nutrition and choosing behaviors that support heart and bone health using the new “MyPlate” tool. The program is designed to assist older adults in the self-management of their nutritional health and to learn more about how nutrition and lifestyle changes can promote better health.
The workshops will be held once weekly for six weeks and will include general nutrition information, strategies for goal setting, a cooking demonstration and an optional restaurant outing upon program completion.
There is no fee for this program, however a $10 suggested donation is appreciated. Any program donations help to cover the workshop and a Healthy Eating program manual.
