Multimedia Artist Phil Hansen Visits NMU February 4th

MARQUETTE, Mich.—Multimedia artist Phil Hansen will present “Embrace the Shake” at Northern Michigan University on Tuesday, Feb. 4. The title reflects the advice of a doctor who diagnosed Hansen with irreversible nerve damage after he developed a hand tremor during art school. Hansen began exploring new approaches to creating art and now works at the intersection of traditional visual arts, pointillism and offbeat techniques. His time-lapse video of a two-day project titled “Influence” has 1.9 million views on YouTube.

Hansen’s presentation starts at 7:30 p.m. in 102 Jamrich Hall. Admission is free for NMU students with ID and $2 for the general public. They are available at the door.

For more information, contact the Center for Student Enrichment at (906) 227-2439. NMU Platform Personalities is sponsoring this event.
