Marquette – Youth ages eight to 18 are invited to a training session to become part of the Guardians of Wow program (formerly Explainers) on Friday, February 7 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the U.P. Children’s Museum.
The Guardians of Wow is a free, fun program where youth volunteers learn about service and leadership through assisting in the museum. They help guests better understand the exhibits; give input on improving exhibits; help plan and host special events; show and care for the museum’s animals; assist in the museum store and more. They work closely with museum staff members who serve as mentors.
Snacks will be served. A parent or caregiver must be present from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m. For more details or to register for the training, call Jim Edwards at 226-3911 or via email at museummrjim@gmail.com.
