ISHPEMING, MICHIGAN – Are you in the Olympic spirit and ready to enjoy the Olympic Games that will be televised from Sochi Russia next month?
The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame is holding a special Olympic film evening this Wednesday, January 22nd starting at 7:00 PM.
Its main purpose is to say thank you to everyone who has supported the Hall of Fame and its events over the past year. Anyone can attend, since the Ski Hall does appreciate this community’s support.
On the evening’s program will be the showing of the Official Film from the Lake Placid Olympic Games in 1980. It was produced by Joe Jay Jalbert (pictured above), who is being inducted into the Hall of Fame this year. Several people from the community were present at the Lake Placid Games, either as officials for ski jumping, or as spectators.
Plan to attend what should be a fun event. If you have any Olympic clothing, something with the Olympic Rings on it, etc., please wear it, as there will be a prize for the best outfit.
Refreshments will be served.
