Marquette – The Great Yooper Folk Dance will be held on Saturday, January 25 and will kick off the inaugural Cabin Fever Days sponsored by the Beaumier Upper Peninsula Heritage Center at Northern Michigan University.
The dance will feature local traditional music group All Strings Considered and local caller Marge Sklar leading a contra dance at 7:30 p.m., followed by the Derrell Syria Project at 9 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for students/kids.
Cabin Fever Days will run January 25 through March 22. It is designed to encourage U.P. residents to get out and enjoy a series of events celebrating U.P. culture during the winter months. For a full list of Cabin Fever Day events, visit www.nmu.edu/beaumier.
