Marquette – The Central Upper Peninsula Chapter of the Sierra Club will sponsor a film festival on Wednesday, February 18 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library in Marquette.
Two short films will be shown. In “Kilowatt Ours” filmmaker Jeff Barrie takes viewers on a journey from the coal mines of West Virginia to the solar panel fields of Florida as he discovers solutions to America's energy-related problems.
“Wind Over Water” follows journalist Ole Tangen Jr., who chronicled the fight between environmentalists and residents when Cape Wind Associates of Boston announced plans for America's first offshore wind farm.
