Marquette, Michigan — October 12, 2013 — The inaugural Baraga Harvest Festival will take place on Saturday, October 12, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the 100 block of Baraga Avenue in Downtown Marquette. Bustling with harvest-themed activities for all ages, the festival features food and drink, live music and street dance, chef demonstrations, children’s activities and more.
The State 51 Band and the Plaid Billy Goats grace the main stage with live music and a street dance throughout the evening. Inside the main food tent, restaurants from the Eastside Originals feature popular favorites while local chefs present live cooking demonstrations on the chef stage. Everyday Wines hosts an in-house wine tasting and Breakers Roadhouse quenches your thirst in their outdoor beer and liquor garden. A tea & dessert tent presented by the Marquette Baking Company, Dead River Coffee and Garden Bouquet & Design provides the perfect accompaniment to your meal.
Children and adults alike will delight in traditional harvest festivities including cider pressing, bobbing for candy, apples and cookies, corn husk doll making, crafts, games and even a big wheels petting zoo. The Upper Peninsula Children’s Museum and the Marquette Regional History Center showcase a number of activities for the younger set in each of their respective courtyards. Sidewalk sales, information tents and booths from several downtown district businesses round out the day’s offerings.
The fun won’t stop at 8 p.m. The True Falsettos will be playing at the Ore Dock Brewing Company and live music will hit the stage at Breakers Roadhouse. Come celebrate fall and its bountiful beauty at the inaugural Baraga Harvest Festival!
