(Marquette, MI) – Summer Cinema presents a screening of “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” on Thursday, July 25 at 5:30 pm in the Peter White Public Library Community Room.
This film is the first of a trilogy adapting the enduringly popular masterpiece by J.R.R. Tolkien. The adventure follows the journey of title character Bilbo Baggins, who is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor from the fearsome dragon Smaug. Approached by the wizard Gandalf the Grey, Bilbo finds himself joining a company of thirteen dwarves led by the legendary warrior, Thorin Oakenshield. Their journey will take them into the Wild; through treacherous lands swarming with Goblins and Orcs, deadly Wargs and Sorcerers.
Starring Martin Freeman, Ian McKellan and Elijah Wood, the 3 time Oscar nominated film was released in 2012, is rated PG-13 and runs for 169 minutes.
Summer Cinema invites the public to bring their own takeout supper and enjoy this recently released feature film in a dinner theater setting.
