Eagle Mine Contractor Redpath Mining has Completed Its Contract for Pre-Operations Underground Work at Eagle.

Eagle Mine contractor Redpath Mining has completed its contract for pre-operations underground work at Eagle.

Over the past two years Redpath has built over 2 miles (3.7k) of underground tunnels without a single loss time injury, an impressive achievement in the industry. The main decline tunnel, vent raise (ventilation shaft), egress raise (secondary escape shaft), and several development levels are now complete.

At its deepest point Eagle reaches approximately 800 ft. (244 m) below the surface and the quality of work is exceptional.

Over the next few weeks Redpath personnel will be removing their equipment from the mine site. Redpath has 40 employees associated with the contract, of which 21 are local. These people now have specialized skills that can be used at other projects or for future mining at Eagle.

Redpath’s professionalism and performance is outstanding, and we especially commend them on their impeccable safety record.
