Marquette, Michigan – The Peter White Public Library’s Film Club, welcomes the public to a screening of the modern classic film Slumdog Millionaire on Thursday, June 13 at 1:00 pm in the library’s Community Room.
A Mumbai teen who grew up in the slums, becomes a contestant on the Indian version of “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?” He is arrested under suspicion of cheating, and while being interrogated, events from his life history are shown which explain why he knows the answers.
Slumdog Millionaire won eight Academy Awards including those for Best Picture, Director and Music,was released in 2008, is rated R and runs for 120 minutes. Light refreshments will be served.
