U.P. Native Mark Johnson Named American Cancer Society – Community Representative

Will work with Delta, Dickinson, Chippewa-Luce, Menominee, Mackinac Counties-Relay For Life events and LSSU campus Relay For Life

Michigan’s American Cancer Society, Great Lakes Division/Upper Peninsula announced the hiring of Marquette native Mark Johnson, as Relay For Life, Community Representative. Johnson, a 1981 Northern Michigan University graduate will coordinate five Upper Peninsula relays and also the Lake Superior State University campus Relay For Life event in 2013.

Johnson has worked 30 years in community and university marketing, media relations, publicity, NCAA Athletics, fund raising, and development positions. He worked previously at the University of Minnesota, Indiana State University, Marquette University, Nevada Youth Sports In Las Vegas, Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Florida and in 2007-2008 with the Iron Mountain Division/Upper Peninsula American Cancer Society.

Johnson will be based in Escanaba, covering the Eastern Upper Peninsula ACS events. Carl Fulsher in Marquette County covers the Central and Western U.P. Relay For Life fund raisers.
