Marquette – The Marquette Figure Skating Club will host the Ron Carlson International Open on Friday, February 15 and Saturday, February 16 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day at Lakeview Arena in Marquette.
This sanctioned US figure skating competition which hosts up to 150 skaters from Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois and Canada is in its 44th year. Skaters from age 3 to adult compete in ice dance, freeskate, compulsory moves, jumps, spins, and artistic interpretation.
Spectators are welcome, and admission is free. The competition has become a qualifier for the National Solo Dance series, the National Artistic Showcase, and is the final competition in the UP Basic Skills series.
