Ishpeming – The 95th Anniversar of Finnish Independence will be commemorated in a special program on Tuesday, December 6 at 2 p.m. at the Ishpeming Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame.
The Rev. Rudy Kemppainen will lead opening devotions. Tanja Stanaway and Marilyn Savolainen will provide musical entertainment with violin music, and everyone will sing “Maamme,” the Finnish national anthem, .
Honorary Finnish Consul James Kurtti will speak and “The Nordic War” will be shown. The film depicts Finland’s battle for independence.
