
Marquette – A committee of downtown business owners are planning a week long Small Business United Way Awareness Campaign, beginning November 15th (Ladies’ Night) and ending on November 23rd (Black Friday.)
The intent is to have business owners display banners, posters and a donation can provided by the United Way, while also passing out informational postcards about the United Way and the organizations benefiting from the United Way. In addition, businesses are asked to commit whatever level of support is feasible to the United Way.
In addition to the awareness raising and donations, many of the businesses are also doing various fundraisers for United Way. For example, The Garden Bouquet and Design will be selling dollar roses and Donckers will be selling dollar caramels.
Participating businesses include: Blackrocks Brewery, Blue Lounge, Casa Calabria, Che Bella, Chocolay River Trading Company, Dead River Coffee, Donckers, Downtown Eye Care, Downwind Sports, Embrace Salon & Spa, Everyday Wines, Flower Works, Garden Bouquet & Design, Getz’s Dept. Store, HOTplate, Huron Earth Deli, Landmark Inn, Lutey’s Flower Shop, Marquette Food Co-op, Panara Imports, Peace of Mind in Home Care, Salon Salon, Silver Crow, Snowbound Books, Superior Sewing, Switchback, Synergy Fitness, The Studio, The Window Store, Third Street Day Spa & Salon, and Wattsson & Wattsson Jewelers.
