Marquette – Bluesday Tuesday will host a documentary film screening about the influence of blues music on the British invasion on Tuesday, October 30 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.
This film explores the musical revolution of the early sixties British invasion that reintroduced the blues sound to America. The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Van Morrison and other musicians from Great Britain began adapting the music of American classic blues artists like Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, and Howlin’ Wolf to create an entirely new and vibrant sound. Features archived footage and current interviews with veteran rock and roll and blues stars.
There is no admission charge to attend the event which is co-sponsored by the Marquette Area Blues Society and the Friends of the Peter White Public Library.
