Marquette – A Rag Rug Rendevous will be held on Saturday, September 22 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Marquette Regional History Center, 145 W. Spring Street, Marquette.
This popular weaving tradition was brought to the Upper Peninsula by Finnish immigrants. Learn about the techniques of loom building and rug weaving using recycled clothing. Several looms will be warped to encourage you to weave a small “mug rug” with the assistance of the Yarnwinders Fiber Guild.
A $5 donation is being asked. For more information, call 226-3571.
