Marquette – The opening reception for the exhibit “Andrew Ranville: No Island is a Man” will be held on Friday, September 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the DeVos Art Museum at NMU.
Ranville spent part of the past two summers on Rabbit Island, which is owned by fellow Michigan native Rob Gorski. The exhibition will include photography, video, sculpture and sound recordings that give a feel for what it might be like to spend an extended period of time on the island.
Ranville will also give an artist’s talk on Saturday, September 15 at 2 p.m. at the museum. The public is invited to both free events.
