Hancock/Houghton – Michigan Technological University, Finlandia University and local businesses in Houghton and Hancock join hands to celebrate the multicultural spirit of their community at the Parade of Nations on Saturday, September 22 with the parade beginning at 11 a.m. on Quincy Street in Hancock.
The parade will feature floats, Michigan Tech’s popular Pep Band and marching groups carrying the flags of countries all over the globe. It will cross the lift bridge and move east on Shelden Avenue through downtown Houghton, winding up at the Dee Stadium on the waterfront.
A multicultural festival featuring international food and entertainment will be held at the Dee from noon to 4 p.m. Admission is free.
