Marquette – Knitting for Newbies will begin on Monday, September 17 at 4:30 p.m. in the Dandelion Cottage Room of the Peter White Public Library.
The class will meet on Mondays through October 22. Participants, ages 7 to 17, will learn knitting basics by knitting a small blanket which will be donated to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Marquette General Hospital. Skills learned will enable students to design and knit their own scarf.
The program is free but participants need to bring one skein of worsted weight yarn, either a synthetic blend or superwash wool, and one set of #8 circular needles, 16 inches long.
Pre-registration is required. There is a limit of 12 students. Call or visit the library’s Children’s Room at 226-4323 to register or for more information.
