Fast Facts:
- No change to westbound US-2 traffic.
- Eastbound US-2 traffic will detour on Genesee Street, 4th Avenue, Maple Street and River Avenue.
- M-189 will be closed from Genesee Street to US-2; M-189 traffic will use the US-2 detour routes.
To accommodate reconstruction of M-189 from Genesee Street to US-2, as well as the US-2/M-189 intersection, the detour routes in Iron River will change beginning Monday and will remain in effect until mid- to late August.
Westbound US-2 will remain detoured on Cayuga Street between River Avenue and 9th Avenue, one-way only. Eastbound US-2 will be detoured on Genesee Street between 9th and 4th avenues, south on 4th Avenue to Maple Street, and east on Maple Street to River Avenue.
As M-189 will be closed from Genesee Street to US-2, all M-189 traffic will need to use the US-2 detour routes.
US-2 will remain open to local traffic east and west of M-189 in order to maintain access to businesses in downtown Iron River.
