Marquette – Shakespeare Readers will meet for a reading of the play “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” on Wednesday, August 1 at 6:30 pm in the Shiras Room of the Peter White Public Library.
Written around 1590, this play portrays the events surrounding the marriage of the Duke of Athens, Theseus, and the Queen of the Amazons, Hippolyta-including the adventures of four young Athenian lovers and a group of six amateur actors, who are manipulated by the fairies who live in the forest where the play is set. The play is one of Shakespeare’s most popular works for the stage and is widely performed across the world.
Shakespeare Readers is a group for anyone who is intrigued with reading the works of William Shakespeare. They meet on the first Wednesday of each month at library and new members are always welcome.
