Marquette – Percussive Attack Camp wraps up a week-long study of music with two concerts on Friday, August 3.
A student concert of percussion music lead by Carrie Biolo and Jeff Kowalkowski will be offered at noon at Kaufman Auditorium in Marquette. The music will feature traditional percussion instruments mixed with spatial experiments in and around Kaufman Auditorium.
The Percussive Attack Ensemble takes the music outside to the unique setting of Lakenenland Sculpture Park at 7 p.m. for a highly creative, experimental, and theatrical performance. Maria Formolo leads an entourage of dancing maidens as the sculptures themselves are transformed into musical instruments creating a dazzling display of auditory innovation.
All concerts are free of charge. Following the Lakenenland concert, audience members are invited to play the percussion instruments and join in the sound exploration.
