Ishpeming – The Ishpeming Independence Day Celebration will begin with the Firecracker 5k Race and 1 mile walk on Wednesday, July 4 at 8 a.m. at Al Quaal Recreation Area.
Flag-raising and a 21 Gun Salute will take place at 9:30 a.m. in the Memorial Park by the Post Office in downtown Ishpeming.
The 4th of July Kids Parade will begin at 10 a.m. in the Mather Inn parking lot, followed by the 4th of July Parade at 10:30 a.m. through the downtown streets.
The Community Picnic will begin at noon at the Al Quaal Recreation Area. There will be a circus at 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Music will be provided by the Slamtones and Shotgun Kelli from 2 to 6 p.m. Fireworks will begin at dusk.
