Curtis – The 34th Independence Day celebration in Curtis will take place Sunday, July 6 with activities beginning at 10 a.m. with arts and crafts booths open.
At 11 a.m. the Lions Club will begin its barbecue chicken dinner sale.
There also will be a children's inflatable slide, rock climbing, children's games, live music, a bake sale sponsored by the Curtis Women's Club and a food and refreshment tent sponsored by the Curtis Chamber of Commerce.
A parade will begin at noon, featuring floats, marching units and bands from throughout the state. Plaques will be awarded for best float and runner-up. Fireworks will begin at dusk, sponsored by the 3-Lakes Fireworks Council.
