Plans are underway for the 55th Annual Coca-Cola International
Frisbee Tournament, Saturday and Sunday, July 7-8, in Agassiz Field in
Calumet, MI. We will be honoring and raising funds for the Wounded
Warrior Project, and we hope to be at least as successful as last
year as we raised $2,000 for the Japanese Red Cross. Fund-raising cards
are available at local restaurants and taverns.
We already have commitments from three bands: Love Friction, Raven
Congress, and Electric Park.
We will be having a Saturday night Park in the Park at Agassiz Park,
which is adjacent to Agassiz Field. Music, food, and fun!
Frisbee registration will be at the Calumet Colosseum Friday night,
July 6, at the International Frisbee and USA Guts Hall of Fame.
Festivities afterward to be announced.
Teams will include the defending champs Boomtown Saints (Lansing),
Appleton Assassins, Blame the Dog (Chicago/Downstate MIchigan),
Cupola Bandits, O’Malley’s Alley(Marquette), Young Guns (Marquette), and
local squads Red Carpet Baggers, Luigi’s, Monte Carlo, Keweenaw
Mountain Lodge, and Just Get It In!
We also will be handing out the inaugural Dave Bradshaw Award, at
Noon on Saturday. This is a very meaningful award, chosen for someone who
has made monumental contributions to the sport of Guts Frisbee. He
will be announced, soon.
We’ll have concessions by the CLK Schools All-Sports Booster Club,
but with more pasties! And, two misting tents, in case it gets hot!
Camping is available at Lake Linden, McLain State Park, and Hancock,
but the sites are be going quickly.
We’ll see you in Calumet, July 7-8.
