Champion – “Paws in the Park” will be held on Saturday, June 9 from noon to 4 p.m. at Van Riper State Park in Champion.
The event will include a Dog Agility and Training 101 course, owner/pooch portraits and a pet parade with awards and prizes. If you don’t have a dog, a shelter dog may be rented from the Upper Peninsula Welfare Shelter and the rental fee will benefit UPAWS.
Dogs must be kept on a six foot leash at all times. A recreation passport is required for entry into the state park.
