Marquette Senior High School will be educating students on the topics of impaired and distracted driving the week of April 16-20, 2012. Highlights of the events that will be taking place that week are listed below:
Monday, 4/16: The Traffic Stop; What Happens (Craig Marker, Marquette City Police Department)
School-Wide Advisory Activity: Distracted Driving Lesson
Tuesday, 4/17: The Court: Facing the Consequences (Sue Wilson, Magistrate, 96th District Court)
School-Wide Advisory Activity: Impaired Driving Lesson
Wednesday, 4/18: Substance Abuse: Teens and Self-Assessment (Bob Swanson, Great Lakes Recovery)
Thursday, 4/19: Trauma Code Scenarios: Emergency Department Experience (Students bused to MGHS)
Friday, 4/20: Trauma Code Scenarios: Emergency Department Experience (Students bused to MGHS)
All Day Event: HATS ON Day
· Students pay $1 to receive a badge to wear. This badge allows students to wear a hat for the day (which is normally against school rules). All money donated will go to MADD.
· In addition, students will sign contracts that they will not ride or drive with someone impaired or distracted. All contracts will go into a drawing for two prizes: Dinner for two at Elizabeth’s Chophouse, Dinner for two at the Casa Calabria.
The MSHS prom takes place on Saturday, April 21, 2012.
