Marquette – Women, men and children in more than 170 countries will celebrate the World Day of Prayer on Friday, March 2. A service, sponsored by the women of Messiah Lutheran, will be held at 1 p.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, 305 W. Magnetic, Marquette.
In conjunction with the World Day of Prayer theme, “Let justice prevail!” the program at Messiah will feature Alanna Mingay discussing her time spent in Sri Lanka while working on her master’s degree.
The service is for all denominations and faith communities to join in prayer and song to support women’s ecumenical ministries toward justice, peace, healing and wholeness.
An offering will be taken to support the work of World Day of Prayer USA and help meet the needs of families who are victims of poverty, violence and human trafficking.
Fellowship and dessert will follow the service. For more information, call 225-1119.
