Calendar – Education – Mock Slave Auction – Feb. 17

Marquette – In honor of Black History Month in February, Northern Michigan University’s Black Student Union will host a mock slave auction on Friday, February 17 at 7 p.m. in the Spalding Hall lobby.

Organizers will demonstrate how slaves were bought and sold in order to give students a first-hand look at the slave culture in the United States during the 19th century.

The event is free of charge and open to the public.
