Tuesday, February 7th ‐ 7:00pm Great Migrations: The Science of Great Migrations, 55 minutes The “Science of Great Migrations” takes a look behind the scenes of National Geographic’s series Great Migrations. Learn how scientists are using new technologies to help learn more about animal migrations.  Scientists are leaning how wildebeest migration help the animals avoid predators; see how scientist radio tag a monarch butterfly; learn how a new device attached to elephant seals help scientists learn about how seals move and how deep they dive; and how researchers using cell phones and text messages to keep African elephants safe. Lake Invaders: The Fight for Lake Huron, 56 minutes The third largest freshwater lake on the planet has been invaded by numerous exotic species over the last century. ”Lake Invaders: The Fight For Lake Huron” is a documentary which explores the threat to Lake Huron’s ecosystem and the innovative solutions employed by biologists. They describe the damage caused by these invaders and efforts to manage Lake Huron’s ecosystem and multi‐million dollar fisheries. Tuesday, February 14th – Bring your Valentine 7:00pm Great Migrations – Race to Survive, 55 minutes Migrations are ticking clocks: every day, countless animals must move or die, driven by changing seasons, and a changing climate; they are racing to reach their destination, before it’s too late, to breed, feed or simply stay alive. But for animals ranging from walruses to whale sharks, zebras to orangutans, pronghorn to plankton – every day is a race against time.   Elsa’s Legacy, 56 minutes 2010 marks the 50th Anniversary of the publication of Born Free – a book and then a film that changed forever the way we think about wildlife.  Elsa, an orphaned lion cub raised by George and Joy Adamson then released back into the wild, captivated audiences around the world, and became a symbol for all animals’ right to live free.  But behind the film and book lies the real story of the Adamsons’ life with Elsa.
