Negaunee – The Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter will host a Home 4 the Holidays open house on Thursday, December 15 from noon to 7:30 p.m. at the shelter at 84 Snowfield Road in Negaunee Township.
The public is invited to tour the shelter, meet the shelter staff, volunteers and board members, and the shelter animals. Baked goods and refreshments will be served.
Those who pick a candy cane from Santa’s special stocking will receive special adoption rate savings of 50 to 75 percent off the listed adoption rate on all pets, or a chance to win a free adoption paid for by UPAWS supporters.
All adopted pets will go home with a Christmas stocking gift package. UPAWS is home to a variety of pets seeking forever homes. For more information, call 475-6661 or visit www.upaws.org.
