Marquette – The Superiorland Photography Club will offer an informal meeting, open to all levels of experience, on Thursday, December 8 at 7 p.m. in the Marquette Arts and Culture Center on the lower level of the Peter White Public Library in Marquette.
All are invited to come early and meet others to talk or ask questions
about photography related issues. Also, feel free to bring your
favorite photos in print or on computer media to share with the
group.
The scheduled program will be a viewing of “The Art of Seeing” by
Gerry Stewart. It poses the question “Are you using your camera to
just take pictures–or are you doing serious photography?” The
challenge is to look around and beyond the subject of the photograph.
Examples will demonstrate the reasons why one should not pass up “what
just looks ordinary.” The topic is very useful for beginners and
experienced photographers to gain more insight. They also will learn
the potential results that can be achieved from the effects of
lighting and other available options, and how the proper application
of these elements will enhance the photographic image.
