Marquette, Michigan – Northern Michigan University’s Forest Roberts Theatre will present a student-directed, 10-minute play festival on Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 7-8. Performances begin at 7:30 each night in the James A. Panowski Black Box Theatre in the McClintock Building. The public is invited and admission is free.
The festival showcases the 2010 and 2011 national finalists from the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival. NMU students enrolled in a directing theory course each will direct one 10-minute play featuring students from an acting course and community members. The plays to be presented include The Ballad of 423 and 424 by Nicholas C. Pappas, A Brief Theory of the Cosmos by Molly Hagan, Orphan Train by Julie Tosh, Spaceships and Other Things that Look Like Them by Molly Hagan, Two Socks Discuss Loss by Walt McGough, 58 & 59 by Matt Fotis, The Coyote Strategem by Lupe Flores, Girls Play by Masha Obolensky, Nancies by Adam Groff, and Twenty–4 by Sean Holcomb.
