Marquette – A Shalom Service will be held on Sunday, November 9 at 7 p.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Marquette.
This is an an ecumenical service intentional in its emphasis on social justice. It will promote advocacy for peace among all denominations and peoples.
At Shalom, participants will be challenged and awakened.
The guest speaker will be Pastor David Van Kley of Messiah and St. Mark's Lutheran Church of Marquette. He will lead the service, based on the word, Shalom – the Hebrew word that expresses peace on all levels: emotionally, physically, socially and spiritually.
After the service, a fellowship coffee hour is offered. A free-will offering will be collected and donated to Harbor House.
