NIGERIAN ACTOR FREED FROM DETENTION AFTER 25 BOWEL MOVEMENTS:
A Nigerian actor who was held on suspicion of trying to smuggle drugs on a plane, has been released after 24 days in detention — and more importantly, 25 drug-free bowel movements. Babtunde Omidina’s bowel movements had to be monitored by the country’s National Drug Law Enforcement Agency. His lawyer said in court, “There have been several examinations carried out on him and no banned substances have so far been found.” (AFP)
MOM CALLS COPS ABOUT SON’S POT PLANTS:
A Florida teen who kept pot plants in his bedroom has been arrested after his mom called police to report him. Police went to the home on Monday (November 7th) and found the plants in 18-year-old Zachary Kirlangitis’ bedroom. The teen came home during the search and told police that the marijuana plants were his. He has been charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell. (UPI)
POLICE FIND SUSPECT HIDING IN LEAF PILE:
Michigan police were able use thermal imaging to find a fleeing suspect who had found a hiding spot in a pile of leaves. Police say the suspect fled once more, jumping into a river. He eventually went to a motel where police caught up with him. They found drug paraphernalia and suspect the man was making meth in his room at the motel. He is currently being held on probation violation. (AP)
“Dancing Shoplifter” Arrested After Allegedly Attempting to Steal Dress
The so-called “Dancing Shoplifter” has been stopped in his tracks by Camden County, New Jersey, police. According to Philadelphia’s WPVI-TV, 26-year-old Anthony DiVietro is accused of attempting to steal a red dress at a Kmart in Blackwood, New Jersey, early last month while apparently dancing in the store. He allegedly put the dress underneath his shirt, then threw the dress onto the floor and fled the store after a security officer confronted him. The incident was captured on surveillance video that was posted by police on YouTube.
DiVietro has been charged with shoplifting.
Rare Crocodile Found in Man’s Bathtub
Fabio Lazelli’s neighbors in Cremona, Italy were surprised when they entered his apartment recently and made a surprising discovery: a rare crocodile. According to Orange.co.uk, the neighbors found the three-year-old Cuban croc in Fabio’s bathtub following a “bust up” in the area. Lazelli is facing a year in jail and a fine of about 111 thousand U.S. dollars. The crocodile has been relocated to a reptile house in Rome.
Athlete Goes on Naked Rampage
Athletes react differently when they learn they’ve been kicked off a team, but one basketball player at Fresno Pacific University takes this week Overreaction Award. The Fresno Bee cites a police report as saying 21-year-old Leonard Tyrell Young reacted to be being kicked off his school’s team Monday by allegedly running naked through the streets and a convenience store after assaulting two women and trying to steal a police car.
Cops responded to reports of a naked man who appeared to be intoxicated and spotted Young pounding his fists on parked cars. After pushing two women to the ground, police say Young allegedly tried to steal a police car and then attacked an officer and a police dog. Young was finally subdued after receiving three Taser strikes.
Young was booked into the Fresno County Jail on several charges, including suspicion of carjacking, resisting arrest, harming a police dog and being under the influence of a controlled substance. According to Fresno Pacific University, Young had been kicked off the basketball squad for a violation of team standards.
