Marquette – Vernacular photography from the collection of John and Teenuh Foster will be displayed through November 16 in an exhibit titled “Accidental Mysteries: Extraordinary Vernacular Photographs” at the DeVos Art Museum at Northern Michigan University.
Vernacular photography refers to a genre of folk art that captures elements of history, sociology and psychology.
Museum hours are noon to 8 p.m. Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. other weekdays, and 1 to 4 p.m. on the weekend. For more information, visit www.nmu.edu/devos.
