Calendar – Community – “Cool-lections” Opening – Nov. 3

Marquette – The Beaumier Upper Peninsula Heritage Center will unveil a new “Cool-lections” exhibit on Thursday, November 3 at 7 p.m. at Northern Michigan University.

Director Dan Truckey will give a guided talk titled “Why Things Matter” at the opening reception in 105 Cohodas Hall.
The exhibit is composed of odd, fascinating and interesting artifacts from the center’s collection and from individuals throughout the community.

Truckey will discuss the importance of material culture and the symbolic and practical reasons that individuals collect such artifacts. Admission is free.

The center’s hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Saturday.
