Marquette – The Marquette County Conservation District’s annual Natural Resources Celebration will be held on Thursday, November 3 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Marquette Mountain Ski Chalet.
There will be a social hour with a cash bar, followed by a pizza buffet dinner.
“Natural Resouces in the U.P.: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” will be presented by retired DNR field biologist Jim Hammill. Local historian Ben Mukkala will offer humorous anecdotes about Marquette County Forestry Folklore.
There will be a display of the 2011 entries for the Michigan Association of Conservation Districts’ poster contest and the 2010 state winning entry, submitted by Wells Township School student Nicole Usher.
