Skandia – Donna Pearre and Carole Van House, owners of Avalon Farm Alpacas, will host an open house on Saturday, September 24 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 118 McLaughlin Road in Skandia.
Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the farm, see and learn about alpacas, and view fiber artists working with fiber produced by some of the farm’s colorful herd of more than 100 huacaya alpacas. Raw fiber, rovings and felt will be available for sale to spinners and fiber artists, and alpaca yarn and products will be available for sale to the general public.
