Calendar – Education – Civil War on the Great Lakes Program – Aug. 30

Gwinn – The Forsyth Township Historical Society and the Forsyth Township Library will sponsor a program “The Civil War on the Great Lakes” with Frederick Stonehouse on Tuesday, August 30 at 7 p.m. at the Gwinn Clubhouse.

Stonehouse will discuss the largely ignored role played by the Great Lakes in the Union’s victory and the plots hatched by the Confederates to attack strategic sites along the lakes.

Admission is free for historical society members, $2 for others. Refreshments will be served. For more information, call Rick Wills at 346-5413 or email rpwills@yahoo.com.
