Explore Iron Ore and the Civil War This Weekend in Marquette County

MARQUETTE, MI – Great Lakes Radio News – The Civil War and the role Michigan’s iron resources played in preserving the Union will come to life this weekend when the Michigan Iron Industry Museum in Negaunee Township hosts a Civil War artillery encampment. This encampment features military and civilian camp life, cannon demonstrations, cooking demonstrations and costumed portrayals of Abraham and Mary Todd Lincoln.

Barry James with the Michigan Iron Industry Museum called in to chat about this weekend’s events and told the listeners what was scheduled and when they should come out to the museum. He added this event is free of charge, but donations are appreciated.
