Houghton – The Michigan Technological University Board of Control will meet on Thursday, August 4 at 9:30 a.m. in Ballroom B of the University’s Memorial Union Building.
The dedication of the A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum’s new home on Sharon Avenue, adjacent to the Advanced Technology Development Complex, will take place at 1:30 p.m. the same day. Tom Shaffner, a 1957 Michigan Tech alumnus, pledged $1 million toward the building. He will be a guest of honor at the dedication, as will Larry and Jeanne Seaman Farnum and Jack Seaman. The Farnums are both Michigan Tech alumni. Jeanne and Jack are grandchildren of A.E. Seaman, the mineral museum’s founder.
