Marquette City Firefighters Fill The Boot For Muscular Dystrophy

MARQUETTE – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The annual “Fill the Boot” fund raiser to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association is coming this weekend. The event is hosted by the City of Marquette Fire Department and features firefighters stationed in busy street intersections throughout Marquette filling a rubber fire boot with cash donations from motorists.

Marquette City Firefighter Dean Mallos joined Sunny 101.9’s Mark and Walt in the Morning today to preview this popular activity. He outlined the schedule and location of the collection points and added that all of the funds raised go local M-D-A efforts and programs. The fund drive usually gathers over $10,000 each year.
