Baraga – Baraga Lumberjack Days will be held Saturday, July 2 and Sunday July 3 in Baraga. An opening ceremony will begin Saturday at 7:30 p.m. with the Queen Coronation on Superior Avenue in front of Wilkenson’s/Sidetrack Bar, followed by a street dance from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. with music by Slave to Gravity.
Sunday activities include a pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon at the Baraga High School cafeteria, flag raising at 10:30 a.m. at the American Legion Post and a children’s parade at noon. The Independence Day Parade will begin at 3:30 p.m. with the theme “Always Remember, Never Forget.”
Games for young and old will be held throughout the afternoon on the corner of M-38 and Superior Avenue. Karaoke will be from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in front of the Sidetrack Bar. Tug-o-war will begin at 6 p.m. and the Ray Dompierre Memorial Nite Shirt Parade will begin at 9:15 p.m.
Fireworks over Keweenaw Bay will begin at dusk.
