Marquette – The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning will sponsor a hike through a portion of the McCormick Tract Wilderness led by wilderness enthusiast and Internet author Tom Foye on Saturday, September 23.
Participants will meet at 8 a.m. in the Berry Events Center east parking lot, then depart for the 1 hour drive to the trailhead.
The four to five-hour hike will follow the north trail to the falls on the west branch of the Yellow Dog River, continue to the east branch of the Yellow Dog to view the largest trees in Marquette County, travel upstream along the east branch, passing about 10 waterfalls, and proceed to the top of the trail to view a double waterfall.
The cost is $4 for NCLL members, $7 for others.
Registration deadline is Thursday, September 25.
