Marquette – The 50th anniversary of America’s Peace Corps will be celebrated with local returned volunteers on Wednesday, June 29 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library.
Returned Peace Corps volunteers Jerome Maynard and Melissa Hall will present a program on the history of the Peace Corps, how their experiences serving abroad shaped their lives and Peace Corps opportunities that exist in today’s world.
Other returned volunteers from the area who are showcasing their experiences abroad with photos, memorabilia and mementos from service in countries as diverse as Thailand, Paraguay, Bolivia, Cameroon, Nepal and Samoa will be available for a meet and greet after the presentation. Peace Corps materials will be available.
